Pre-Purchase Survey
This type of survey is exactly as the title suggests, suitable for anyone purchasing a property and is a much-needed type of survey for homebuyers. Chartered Surveyors will regularly highlight potential asbestos containing materials within their reports and it is key that an asbestos report is produced that will cover these areas and look for additional materials in the property that may not have been mentioned originally.
The survey is non-intrusive and as such will not cause any damage to the property. This is essential as the vendor of the property is unlikely to allow a fully intrusive survey to be undertaken at this point, prior to you the buyer owning the property.
Whilst the property may contain further materials hidden within the fabric of the building that could only be found by conducting an intrusive Asbestos Refurbishment & Demolition Survey, if we have not got to them during this survey then it will not compromise your safety as they are aren’t being disturbed in normal occupancy.
Residential Surveys
An Asbestos Management Survey, is for owner’s occupiers/tenants that live in the property but want peace of mind to know which asbestos containing materials are present within the property. This survey is for general day to day occupation of the property, it is non-intrusive and will not cause any damage to the property.
The survey is designed to give a good understanding of asbestos materials that are present in the property, but will not identify any materials that are hidden within the fabric of the building (a Refurbishment & Demolition survey is required for that level of inspection).
