ASBESTOS SURVEY

Berkeley Homes - Oxford & Chiltern

Green Shield Environmental have been delighted to work with Berkeley Homes Oxford & Chiltern, who acquired the 12.77 acre Horlicks Factory Site in Slough. The site is to be fully redeveloped by Berkeley Homes Oxford & Chiltern to provide up to 1,300 residential properties, public open space and commercial and community space.

Green Shield Environmental were successfully appointed to conduct the asbestos survey works for a duration of approximately one month. We undertook both Asbestos Demolition and Asbestos Refurbishment surveys to the various buildings across the site.

The majority of buildings on site are to be fully demolished with the exception of one, the original factory building which is locally listed. This will remain showing it’s iconic façade but will have extensive redevelopment throughout the building, to convert it into residential properties and community hub, including a nursery.

Survey teams were deployed to the project to meet the clients programme of works. Despite some challenges on site effective communication from both parties ensured that GSE were able to advise and work closely with the client regarding any possible risks, implementing safe working procedures to ensure that the site works continued and that all reports were completed and submitted to the client within the agreed timeframes.
